The Studio

A serious training program for archers who want measurable results.

Backcountry Arrow is built for the archer who wants more than range time. Every session is structured around movement science, deliberate practice, and clear progression — whether you are preparing for a Western elk hunt, dialing in your competition rig, or picking up a bow for the very first time.

Discipline

Compound, traditional, and Olympic recurve — every bow style coached at every level.

Method

Biomechanics, equipment fit, and shot process — rebuilt from first principles, not borrowed habits.

Outcomes

Tighter groups, calmer execution under pressure, and ethical shots in the field.

Location

Los Angeles & surrounding ranges. Online coaching available worldwide.

Flagship Program

Bow Hunting
Prep & Training.

A focused, field-ready program for hunters who refuse to leave the shot to luck. We rebuild your shot process around pressure, terrain, and the one moment that matters — under heart rate, in low light, at unknown distance.

  • Shot Process Under Pressure

Heart-rate elevated drills, simulated field scenarios, and decision-making under fatigue.

  • Rig Optimization for the Field

Bow fit, broadhead tuning, arrow build, and equipment vetted for your specific hunt.

  • Steep-Angle & Unknown-Distance Practice

Form corrections for awkward terrain, ranging discipline, and ethical kill-zone shooting.

  • Pre-Hunt Programming

A structured 6–12 week ramp into your season, calibrated to your tag, target species, and physical baseline.

Backcountry ridge at golden hour — Western bow hunting terrain
The Method

Built on biomechanics. Sharpened on the range.

Every archer is rebuilt through the same four-phase framework — adapted to your bow, your body, and your objective.

01

Assess

Baseline shot, equipment, anatomy, and goals. A clear starting point — no guesswork.

02

Rebuild

Form, stance, anchor, and release — repaired against a biomechanically sound shot process.

03

Tune

Your bow, your arrows, your sight tape — calibrated to the archer, not the catalog.

04

Execute

Pressure drills, field simulation, and competition routines until the shot owns itself.

What students are saying.

"I'd never really shot a bow before Jack. He taught me everything — form, technique, the ethics of the field — then walked me through licensing and hunter ed. Not long after, I harvested my first deer."
